GATE Syllabus for Civil Engineering 2018

GATE Syllabus for Civil Engineering 2018 - The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has released the GATE 2018 syllabus for civil engineering. GATE 2018 will be conducted on February 3 & 4, 2018 and February 10 & 11, 2018 in an online mode. The GATE 2018 application form has been released on August 31 and the last date for filling it was October 9, 2017. The civil engineering syllabus for GATE 2018 has been listed here in detail along with the books to be referred to as suggested by toppers and experts. GATE syllabus for civil engineering 2018 mentions the section wise topics from where the questions will be asked for the national level engineering exam. It is to be noted that two sections of the CE paper for GATE are mandatory – Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude. Candidates can also check the syllabus of Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude that has been specified by IIT Guwahati to prepare better. The Civil Engineering Syllabus of GATE 2018 is mostly similar to that of the graduation level. However candidates would do well to check it before starting their preparation. What are the types of questions asked in GATE 2018?

The types of questions that will be asked in the GATE 2018 exam are:

  • Multiple Choice Questions – has negative marking

  • Numerical Answer questions – does not have negative marking. Candidates have to calculate the answer and use the numerical keypad to key in the answers

Important: Candidates will have to use the virtual calculator that will be provided with the online test paper. Physical calculators are not allowed.
